Lisa is just the third solo K-pop musician to hit the competitive pop radio chart.

... [+]On this week’s edition of the Pop Songs chart,’s ranking of the tunes that reach the largest audience at pop radio in America, the lowest spot on the tally is occupied by a debut. The musician who appears at the very bottom of the list earns her first win, and in doing so, makes history and joins a very small group of solo stars who have managed to find their way to the incredibly competitive roster.

Lisa’s “Money” debuts at No. 40 on this week’s Pop Songs chart, bringing the Blackpink singer and rapper to the ranking for the very first time. The arrival makes her, which is certainly a momentous achievement. When considering all artists working on their own who are primarily known for making music that can be classified as K-pop , Lisa joins just two other names with her win.

The Blackpink performer is just the third solo K-pop musician to place on the Pop Songs chart, and she now stands alongside two of the biggest and most beloved artists from South Korea. The first name that fits this description who reached the ranking was Psy, who managed the historic move back in 2012. Nearly a decade ago, the groundbreaking musician pushed his world-conquering smash “Gangnam Style” to No. 10.

Earlier this year, Suga of the band BTS became just the second South Korean solo artist to appear on the Pop Songs chart. While he does release music apart from his work with the septet, Suga reached the ranking as a featured artist on another star’s song. Pop singer Max sent his single “Blueberry Eyes,” which counts the BTS performer as a credited singer, to No. 39. That’s not a terribly lofty position, but it did manage to carve out space on the list for a month.

Whether “Money” continues to climb or falls off the Pop Songs chart next week for good, the tune has already made history. Lisa started this year as one of the four members of Blackpink, but she’s ending it as both one-quarter of one of the most successful girl groups in the world as well as a shining solo musician who has now landed a historically significant and somewhat surprising smash in the U.S.
