Marketed it wrong. They featured Spielberg & rehearsals, not story & the 2 leads. Narrative = sales. The narrative they showed: a musical getting made. Meh. Narrative people care about: Star crossed young lovers!❤❤❤
I remember Eli Wallach in The Holiday complaining that movie box office results were now being reported as if they were baseball scores. We should stop doing that and celebrate the worth of a movie by how inspiring it is or how it makes us feel.
It’s a great flick!!! See it! To all of you afraid of theaters due to Covid — really?! If the movie only made 10 million opening weekend… I can assure THERE IS NO ONE IN THE THEATERS! Stop the excuses. It’s a beautiful movie, gorgeous and… worth the price of a ticket. seeit
