When Joe Biden chatted with Jimmy Fallon last night, he was far from the first president to appear on late-night TV. From Kennedy to Obama, here’s a look at seven memorable late-night moments:

President Joe Biden is appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon Friday night, his first late-night appearance since taking office in January. The virtual interview is also the first time a sitting president has appeared on late-night TV since President Barack Obama did so in 2016.

Television played a huge role in the 1960 election — especially in regards to the first televised presidential debate between Kennedy and Richard Nixon — but Kennedy’s appearance on late-night television started a tradition among presidents.Even after losing to Kennedy in the 1960 race, Nixon still made his rounds on late-night television.

While the saxophone performance was the most notable part of the night, in a sit-down interview with Hall, Clinton discussed topics like his presidential campaign, the Los Angeles uprisings and the economy. Hillary Clinton also joined for part of the interview.Comedian Dana Carvey famously impersonated Bush on SNL, complete with "church lady voice" and hand gestures galore. In 1994, Bush appeared in one of Carvey's cold opens to comment on the likeness of himself.

Bush read aloud his list, titled “Top 10 Changes I’ll Make in the White House,” Some of Bush’s most memorable quips included no talking at cabinet meetings "until you ride the mechanical bull," putting his mother's face on Mount Rushmore, and issuing an executive order "commanding my brother Jeb to wash my car."During his 2016 presidential campaign, Trump allowed Fallon to ruffle his hair, creating a look an observer might call "windswept.

I loved him last night

After he announced he was going to have that Thug of Prez on his show, I have never watched his show again.

Sad. F’ing Sad.

Trump est le seul président qui n'a pas fait la guerre

That was Fallon's the first and only show where people laughed, and it wasn't him it was his guest

Poor choice of photo. I won’t click on tfg. Should have led with Kennedy! 🤷🏻‍♀️

When will America elect smashable candidates…

Biden to make first late-night show appearance on 'Tonight' -hostU.S. President Joe Biden plans to make his first late-night television show appearance since taking office on 'The Tonight Show,' on Friday, host Jimmy Fallon said. Biden makes his late-night debut as he promotes his Build Back Better agenda of social spending and climate policy across the country amid falling approval ratings spurred by inflation, including high prices at the gas pump. The White House did not return a request for comment on the appearance, which will likely be pretaped and virtual. I really wish people would understand his agenda. I always appreciate a chance to laugh at Joe Blows
