Born as Robert Dean Stockwell in March 1936, Stockwell began his career as a child actor under contract to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. His first know film appearance was in “Valley of Decision” in 1945. Other early titles included “Anchors Aweigh” and “The Green Years.”
The role earned Stockwell multiple nominations for the Primetime Emmys and for the Golden Globes, with a Golden Globe win in 1990 for “best performance by an actor in a supporting role in a series, miniseries or motion picture made for television.” Stockwell received a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame on Feb. 29, 1992.

So many great performances, especially the small ones. For some, he'll always be the guy lip-syncing Orbison's 'In Dreams' in Blue Velvet. He was memorable as Dr. Yueh in Lynch's Dune as well. His scene-stealing turn as Howard Hughes in Tucker was incredible!

I remember seeing The Boy with Green Hair and it made me a Dean Stockwell fan. He was always memorable, specific and he brought so much dimension to all his roles. I was sorry to read of his death. He was a real actor.

NO!!! I only learned a couple of years ago via tcm & BenMank77 that Dean had been one of the most successful child actors ever. At that point I had only known him from QuantumLeap. RIPDeanStockwell
