The tragedy at the Travis Scott concert is prompting the concert business to search for what went wrong and raise fresh questions about the adequacy of security at music festivals

on Friday night are prompting the concert business to search for what went wrong and raise fresh questions about the adequacy of security at music festivals.

At least eight people died and many were injured following an apparent crowd surge during Mr. Scott’s headlining set at the Astroworld Festival, making it one of the deadliest concert disasters in years. Authorities have launched an investigation into the surge, security measures and reports that someone was injecting fans with drugs. It remains unclear how either potential safety lapses or criminal activity might have been connected to the crowd surge.

Might want to have a good long talk with that governor of theirs.

Perhaps Travis should point out they are dead because Intel suggested they were terrorists, that the killings were justified, tell Congress these things, and then when found out, just say oops. That's the Federal Government's way...

It's not security. There were 500 police officers at the concert. It's dangerously designed open areas w no barriers to hold crowd surge. Travis should be sued.

Seems like drug induced fatalities. Sounds like some folks got injected unwillingly

I've been to countless shows where fans pressed up against the stage - including the US Fest with 400,000 concert goers. What the hell happened? Are concert goers just less sophisticated today? They don't know not to cram so damn tight? I dunno.

What the hell does it have to do with security. Sell less tickets.

Searching for what went wrong? Eight people died. That’s what went wrong. Is the concert business going to fix it so these people are returned to their loved ones?

As a Deadhead 30+ yrs & attendee of hundreds of concerts and music festivals I can attest these fixes are many& ling overdue. I have a notebook of suggested fixes from parking lot logistics to bathroom set up to security and barrier placement. Process improvements needed all over

I’m pretty sure the stampede is what went wrong…
