Alec Baldwin has broken his silence on the death of cinematographer Halyna Hitchins, defending the “well-oiled crew” on the set of film Rust and calling the accidental killing a “one-in-a-trillion event.”
If it was a one in a trillion event it would probably have never happened before but sadly it has. With modern CGI I cannot see any reason for having a live gun on set. I’m sure any bangs and flashes could be added in seconds post filming.

The mistake here is using blank bullets that aren't 100% safe instead of CGI.
