Alec Baldwin Gives First On-Camera Comments on Halyna Hutchins Death: ‘She Was My Friend’

“An ongoing effort to limit the use of firearms on film sets is something I’m extremely interested in,” Baldwin said. “I’m not an expert in this field. So whatever other people decide is the best way to go, in terms of protecting people’s safety on film sets, I’m all in favor of and I will cooperate with that in any way that I can.”

When asked if he thought production on “Rust” will start up again in the future, Baldwin gave a simple “I doubt it.” According to affidavits in the case, Baldwin been informed that the prop was “a cold gun,” and was unaware that it contained a live round before the accident. The actor gave a written statement on Hutchins’ death last Friday.

“I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family,” he wrote. “My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”

Anyone who points a firearm, at anyone, for entertainment, is wrong. There is no justification.

Pointing a finger is so easy you are not found guilty until the judge has made his decision in a court case and above all I hate guns he's in a difficult position you don't wish that on anyone

Alec and everyone one -including family members- involved are gonna be in this for awhile.

Hope he is sued. He pointed a gun he hadn't personally inspected at the vital organs of a person and pulled the trigger. He was grossly negligent and should be held accountable.

Shame on anyone blaming him out of the gate without waiting for the full story to come out.

He should sue.

BOTTOM LINE: It’s time for those, who are whining to have a chat with their Congressman: 🇺🇸 Moral/Ethical issue for Alec Baldwin, “COLD gun” and the drama on set NOT his fault; public need experience on movie sets during a pandemic. 🙄👈 He will not be criminally charged: 🇺🇸✌️

I really feel bas for him or anybody that would be in this type of a situation. The prop people need to be better at their jobs period. Theres no excuses for this
