Fantastic actress, but not exactly 'in touch' with reality it seems. What do working mums in other industries think?
Your point is?You can't have everything you want...get over it.
The good news is that Lily Allen has just officially apologised to her, 'on behalf of the country'.
Seen it all now! I thought the petition for actors to get discount rail fares was bad enough!
Aaaaaahhh. One of those rare moments when everyone on Twitter agrees.
Arrrrr poor rich famous people. Day care is too expensive for them.
What if the cast are mainly kids..like the goodies, strangers things, super 8..do they get free adult care?
‘But they had to arrange childcare’ is this an example of privilege? Mulligan doesn’t strike me as a vulnerable demographic.
Actor says this, singer say that etc. What do scientists say? That would be more important.
TRP isn't about Stick Output Comedy Realty Show Acting is Standup StandUp Comedy isn't a Joke Pretty Hard Tuff NoNuts
Millionaire film star says child care is expensive 🙄
My employer doesn't have childcare either... in fact I've never worked for a company that does! welcometotherealworld
Eh? I imagine most work places are ‘limiting’ for mums cos they’re workplaces
Welcome to the real world!!!
I think that goes for all freelance driven jobs in general. It’s a shame that the message was lost under the layers of the 1% of mega rich success. If it was coming from a gaffer or camera operator nobody would write this or care.
I'm in tears here for you. Poor soul. And they say that Nurses have it bad.
Is it true she is stunt double for the staffer’s arse being grabbed by Andrew Marr in ‘Long good day in edit suite’, jointly billed with John Boyega, who is not even in the biopic?
Let's hope she hasn't got a dog or goldfish or something she'd probably want provision made for it too.
Headline Correction: In Ms Mulligan’s opinion, Film & TV sets are still “limiting” for parents.
LackofChildcareOnFilmSetsgate
I'm pretty sure that 95% of work places don't offer child care.
Sometimes people just can't understand why the rest of the world won't do what they want.
Most working people have to sort their own child care out, that's what Nurseries are for. Why does Carey Mulligan feel she should receive preferential treatment?
Probably because the film and TV industry think actors and actresses are adults and not children, although you wouldn't know it from their actions. LOL
Hospital wards, operating theatres are 'limiting' for Mums. Get. A. Grip. 😣
If only I could be famous & very comfortably off then still expect my employer to provide day care, oh the irony completely passes me by...
My job as a sewer worker unblocking fatbergs all day is a bit limiting for mums. Not that it matters none of them are working in sewerage.
Because the rest of the world is just awash in affordable child care
Aww, poor luv.
I'm sure she could afford something. I can't see why this is even news.
Welcome to the real world, love. I've never worked in ANY workplace where they have childcare.
They have remote controls now ffs
If only there was some way not to become an actor..
I am not saying TV sets shouldn’t have childcare facilities! But really CM multi millionaire, freedom to choose when she works is complaining? Nah come on
Better than the conditions facing garment workers in Bangladesh.
Hmmm. Lifestyle choices.
Good it’s work not a play ground
Soooooo, like most people, your place of work doesn't offer childcare on premise
MayMilesThomas Can’t Marcus just take the kids on tour!
same with the factory floor but, you know
Get a babysitter
When did this expectation come about that your employer is responsible for raising your kids?
A lot of work places don't have childcare on site - why do actors/actresses think they should be a special case? We have nurseries and pre schools that the vast majority use along with some family help. Are these not good enough for these people now?
It’s the same problem for female soldiers - a woeful lack of childcare facilities on the battlefield.
So don't choose to be an actress if you want to be a mother at the same time? Or better yet maybe stop working to spend time raising your child? Who said you could have everything? Self entitled delusion.
