Medical experts, including the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has said the inauguration of Euracare Wellness Centre will help reduce foreign exchange lost due to medical tourism.

“I was glad to see that the paradigm of the wellness centre is one of preventative medicine and overall wellness as it caters for the physical, emotional, mental and overall wellbeing of patients under one roof. The commissioner said Lagos State government would continue to create an enabling environment for the private sector to flourish and for Lagos residents to enjoy the benefit of the standard health facility that is offered.

Slabberts said some of the major reasons why the centre was established in Nigeria are to reduce medical tourism amongst Nigerians, help keep Nigerians healthy as caring for the sick should not be the only priority.
