George Clooney spoke about mandatory vaccines while promoting his movie"The Tender Bar" at the 65th BFI London Film Festival.Despite being vocal on the subject since the COVID-19 vaccination has been available, Clooney confirmed he doesn't feel any pressure from backlash from anti-vaxxers.
Reflecting on the history vaccines, he said:"I was listening to a podcast the other day about the polio vaccine, which they screwed up when they first put it out, which I didn't remember, I didn't know because I was too young. One factory actually ended up giving a bunch of kids polio and killing them because they weren't filtering out the formaldehyde."
Clooney is referring to The Cutter Incident from 1955 which caused 40,000 cases of polio, leaving 200 children with varying degrees of paralysis and killing 10.
