Music promoters MCD are hoping to stage three mega New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day gigs in the capital.

In 2019, 110,000 people attended the New Year Festival across three days with 80,000 alone at the fireworks display. In a statement on their website, organisers said: “I think many of us thought that we'd be happily announcing events for 2021/22, but with the continued disruptions caused by the pandemic, we are once again advising caution when planning your New Year's Eve celebrations.
