The palazzi that made the cut were noted for their striking architecture, lavish interiors, and important frescoes and art. In 2006 UNESCO designated 42 of these historic places as a World Heritage Site. This fall, Genoa’s, which usually occur on a weekend, will take place for an entire week, in time to coincide with Genoa Shipping Week.
