CSO figures show consumer price growth rose to 2.8% in August via IrishTimesBiz

According to the CSO, the sectors with the largest increases in the year were transport , housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels , restaurants and hotels and alcoholic beverages and tobacco

The cost of housing was driven up by rising rents, which increased by 4.5 per cent while the cost of mortgage interest rose 2.1 per cent.
