's emergency situations minister has died while trying to save the life of a film director during a training exercise.
According to its website, in recent days Mr Zinichev was on a trip to the Siberian region of Krasnoyarsk. In a statement sent to the Associated Press, the ministry said Mr Zinichev died while trying to save prominent film director Alexander Melnik, who came to the site of drills.Yevgeny Zinichev once served in President Vladimir Putin's security detail.The RBC news site reported, citing an anonymous source, that Mr Zinichev died while taking part in a video shoot.
Margarita Simonyan, chief editor of Russia's state-funded TV channel RT, also said on social media that is what happened.
