Virgin Media's political correspondent Gavan Reilly is the bookies favourite to replace Matt Cooper on The Tonight Show.But there were instant rumours and guesses as to who would fill his shoes alongside Ciara Doherty when the series returns.The political correspondent has been chalked up as the 4/1 frontrunner to land the high-profile gig, ahead of RTE’s David McCullagh who is 5/1.
Names that would surprise the bookmaker include Martin King and Claire Byrne who are priced at 20/1 and 25/1 respectively. Cooper had fronted the current affairs programme for the past four years, first alongside Ivan Yates and most recently Ciara Doherty and then Claire Brock.
