The supermarket giant has previously said the process - which is said to be 40 per cent faster than other chains - helps keep costs down for customers.One shopper faced a backlash over the weekend after sharing their sneaky tactic to slow down checkout staff - after many claimed the lightning-fast checkouts were a bonus, not a negative, Mirror.co.uk reports.

She shared a snap taken by a customer, who spaced out their shopping along the conveyor belt, seemingly forcing staff to wait for them to reach the till.Showing a belt with items spaced apart, a worker can be seen sticking their arm out, meaning the shopping just piles up by the till.
