Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies
, a prequel to the beloved musical. The 10-episode show comes from Paramount TV Studios, whose president,takes place four years before the original Grease. Per the show’s logline, “before rock ‘n’ roll ruled, before the T-Birds were the coolest in the school, four fed-up, outcast girls dare to have fun on their own terms, sparking a moral panic that will change Rydell High forever.”
Stockard Channing, Didi Conn, Dinah Manoff and Jamie Donnelly played the Pink Ladies in the 1978 feature film version ofThe show has taken a rather long road to its green light at Paramount+. The show was originally titledfrom HBO Max in October 2019 under then WarnerMedia Entertainment and direct to consumer boss Bob Greenblatt and chief content officer Kevin Reilly.
HBO Max scrapped the series, however, after a management change that saw HBO head Casey Bloys take the streamer under his purview. It thenWriter Annabel Oakes has remained with the show throughout and will serve as showrunner of. She executive produces with Marty Bowen of Temple Hill and Erik Feig of Picturestart.
And 14 year old Rizzo will be played by Stockard Channing.
“…forever”? You mean until time ends? I’m betting the school probably changed again in that time — might even have been closed or torn down. 🤣 Note: “forever” is one of modern noose medea’s (sic) most inaccurate, superfluous cliches (along with “everyone’s” talking about…).

Why? It’s well known that the franchise was VERY problematic and hasn’t aged well because of that.

Bad idea. GREASE was scrubbed to make a fun cotton candy movie. Let's NOT do this, please. Regardless of the time period shows are set, they reflect current values. In the case of the movie version, it was late 70's. A Pink Ladies prequel is not a good idea in 2021-22.
Why though?
Better than the other Grease prequel pitched, “Sexual Assault On A Beach”
I would not mind watching Grease live on tv again literally live same night and everything. VanessaHudgens mariolopezviva the same cast live again not a prerecorded.
