FACE FACTS: British actress Kate Winslet is the latest global ambassador to be named by L’Oréal Paris.

Winslet, who shot to fame at the age of 21 in “Titanic,” has garnered plaudits for her unvarnished portrayal of a flawed detective in the American crime drama TV series “Mare of Easttown.” She appears unretouched in the show’s promotional poster, and in a recent interview with the New York Times, Winslet revealed she stopped director Craig Zobel from cutting “a bulgy bit of belly” from a sex scene.

In Francis Lee’s “Ammonite,” Winslet plays trailblazing 19th-century fossil hunter Mary Anning, for instance.
