A petition from restaurant operators says there’s little risk of dine-in patrons worsening the spread of Covid-19 if SOPs are obeyed.
In an open letter to Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, senior minister for security Ismail Sabri Yaakob and health-director general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, they say there is a low risk of dine-in customers worsening the spread of Covid-19 if strict adherence to SOPs is maintained.“The statistics are there,” he said. “It doesn’t make sense that dining in is not allowed when we know it is not a significant contributor to clusters.
Kuala Lumpur was placed under MCO 3.0 yesterday, along with Johor Bahru, Kulai and Kota Tinggi in Johor, Taiping in Perak and 14 sub-districts in Terengganu. The MCO in those areas will run until May 20. Dining in was banned again during MCO 2.0, which started on Jan 11, before the government lifted the restriction less than a month later, first allowing two customers per table with tables spaced out at 1m.
LowElsielow That is If you trust that contact tracing and movements of the infected ones were done effectively by the relevant authority.
Dine in shouldn't be banned as it only amounts to 0.3%, the gov should address the real issue instead. KerajaanGagal
Then all those who had the virus but not aware yet, sit next to you with their mask off. 😌. MCO 1.0 worked

Dining in should allowed with strict SOP, otherwise working place should also be closed as SOP most probably not practiced there, just see that most clusters and cases come from here
With a well thought out SOP shouldn’t be a problem.
Problem is that it's too late now. Govt allowing suprespreader events to go on means now people n businesses who have been following SOPs now have to suffer to peg it back. Politics ruining our pandemic responses.
