A Stranger Things season four teaser has dropped – and it finally answers some questions about Eleven’s backstory.
Throughout the clip we hear the voice of the infamous Dr Martin Brenner, played by Matthew Modine, who was the scientist in charge of the lab which we were introduced to in the first season. Over the creepy music, Dr Brenner, known to the children as Papa, says: “Good morning children” which they respond in unison: “Good morning, Papa.”
As Eleven’s eyes snap open, the trailer ends with Brenner eerily asking: “Eleven, are you listening?” Modine teased fans that his character could still be alive in a telling interview with NME last year that. This comes after the popular Netflix series announced the return of small-town cop Hopper, played by David Harbour, who also appeared to have been killed off in season three.
