Scone aroma wafts at first light as CWA volunteers fire up before dawn | juliepower

“Scones, jam and cream are the way in, they’re the beginning of the conversation,” said Ms Whitton, who is a member of the Manly branch. “We’re interested in helping people.“

Tracie and Diana Flavelle of Riverwood, second in line, arrived early to get scones and a table to sit at, a rare commodity later in the day. “We love these scones,” they said, tucking in a serve of two large scones served with strawberry jam and fresh thick cream from Dubbo’s Little Big Dairy. The general manager of the Sydney Royal Easter Show, Murray Wilton, said after an incredibly tough year, the show will be a great celebration for Sydney and NSW to come together as a community.
