On Friday, New York became the first state in the United States to roll out a vaccine verification app, often referred to as a digital vaccine passport. It's using IBM's Excelsior Pass app, which leans on the blockchain and displays a personalized QR code to verify health status. The state tested the app earlier this month at a Brooklyn Nets basketball game at the Barclays Center and a New York Rangers hockey game at Madison Square Garden.
However, these products must confront a number of concerns, including potential counterfeit vaccine cards, the digital divide and, perhaps most immediately, consumer distrust and shifting norms about how technology companies handle personal data. Apple, for example, is currently rolling out push notifications to be more transparent with users about which data will be collected about them before they download any app.
If we can get 330 million people to get a COVID passport, we can get everyone an ID for voting.
So IBM is one of the companies tapped for this.....hmmm. So originally the founder, a well known eugenics, used his system to track racial impurities in Jamaica. Then the tattoo in the holocaust was actually a punch card system for IBM punch card system. Really really
We only want to track everywhere you go, we only want to remove your right to keep your medical history private, we only want to do this for an indeterminate length of time. Imagine the outcry if they'd done this with HIV.
We have a vaccine today, Thanks to WARP SPEED and all the hard working men and women LAST YEAR 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🇺🇸
Voter ID is a better use of getting back to normal.
reeseg_3 No way Jose ‘...
Convince people to wear masks, convince them the vaccine is good and safe. A new PR battle every day. But throw out a conspiracy and it spreads like wildfire.
The apps are a product of govt control & mimic Xi’s communist control.
