Television fans will have to wait a little longer to celebrate the industry’s night of nights after the annual TV Week Logie Awards were moved to November.
The awards, which were traditionally held in April until the event moved to Queensland and subsequently began taking place in winter, will be held on November 28, again at The Star on the Gold Coast as part of a multi-year deal with the Queensland government.Last year’s awards were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
When the cancellation of last year’s awards were announced it was revealed the 2021 awards would recognise the 12 months of television since the 2019 awards along with the programming and personalities from the remainder of the 2020 calendar year. With the awards now taking place towards the end of 2021, there will be two years of television eligible for nomination.
The same number of awards will be handed out on the night, however networks have been given additional capacity to nominate shows and stars for consideration.
