The July dates for Cannes mean there will be less than two months between the world's number one film festival and Venice, its top rival for the crown, which is set to run Sept. 1-11. Berlin is planning its own in-person summer festival in June, where it will screen this year's Gold and Silver Bear winners for the local audience.
