King would have been the first Black woman nominated for best director for making “One Night in Miami,” a critically-acclaimed drama that centers on a fictional conversation in 1964 between Malcolm X, Cassius Clay, Jim Brown and Sam Cooke. The Amazon Studios release, which received strong reviews out of last fall’s Venice Film Festival, didn’t get a best picture nomination either.
Paul Greengrass’ western epic earned four nominations in below-the-line categories — for production design, cinematography, original score and sound .It was always going to be an uphill battle getting The Academy to recognize a comedy film, especially one as conventional as the “Borat” sequel. Still, after winning the Golden Globe for best picture, musical or comedy, and snagging a PGA nomination, there was hope that “Borat” might beat the odds.
To be fair i wasnt sure who was the lead at a few points. But hope they take both categories
They must know Judas and the Black Messiah is going to sweep the awards and want to save lead actor for a white guy with a British accent.
The actor should decide what category to compete in, not the Academy
They need to give it to both Kaluuya and Stanfield
So who is the lead? Jesse Plemons
Ngl, I’m confused af that neither of the two men on the poster is the lead ?

Definitely one of the morning's biggest shockers. Here is my recap of the highs and lows of this morning's OscarNoms.
King for the win !!!!! 🏆🏆
It never makes any sense Best Picture can have up to 10 nominees but rarely there are 10 films chosen
It’s a bad movie with stellar cast
It's not a very good movie outside of those performances. 🤷
Thanks God , the movie sucks . It’s over acted and terrible
Because it is not a good movie. Great performances though.
I was shocked to see this wasn’t included in Best Pic noms.
Because there were only 8 nominees. Back to 10 nominees next year.
