LISTEN: Matthaios collaborates with other Southeast Asian artists for ‘Trust Again’

Filipino rapper Matthaios has teamed up with fellow Southeast Asian artists for “Trust Again,” a track inspired by the Disney filmThe trilingual track highlights Southeast Asian culture as Matthaios, along with Indonesian singer-songwriter Raisa, Thai rapper SPRITE, and Malaysian rapper Yonnyboii reference elements from their own countries in the lyrics. The track also features various ethnic instruments from around the region.

The song’s message echoes that of the film it was inspired by as it calls on people to put aside differences and overcome challenges by working together., tells the story of warrior princess Raya who looks for the mythical last dragon as she seeks to defeat the monsters that have turned the people of her land into stone.Disney’s first Filipino-language track, performed by KZ Tandingan also in line with the film.
