Disney's hypocrisy is 'stomach churning' after it slaps warnings on episodes of The Muppet Show, but films scenes for Mulan where China commits “horrific tragedies” against the Uighurs, says Sky News Digital Editor Houghtontweets.

Disney's hypocrisy is "stomach churning" after it slaps warnings on episodes of The Muppet Show, but films scenes for Mulan where China commits “horrific tragedies” against the Uighurs, says Sky News Digital Editor Jack Houghton. The streaming services now has a ten second content warning before 18 episodes of The Muppet Show which says “this program includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures”.

“Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together," it said. Disney has recently come under fire for filming scenes of Mulan in Xinjiang province in northwest China where the Chinese communist government has interned the Uighur minority in ‘re-education camps’. The US government has declared the violence against the Uighurs as an act of genocide.

FatherBob Houghtontweets Sky News accusing anybody of hypocrisy lol

Houghtontweets It’s a worldwide network of bloodlines and they’re all working together. 😎

Houghtontweets While I totally understand being angry at Disney over the Mulan stuff, as that really was a bad thing for them to do, I really question the anger about Disney simply putting content warnings for 10 seconds on some of the Muppet Show episodes. They haven't been altered in any ...

Houghtontweets The people running Disney should be in jail.

Houghtontweets Ground breaking reporting 👏
