Just like in the film Finding Nemo, the juvenile flatback turtle was likely swept off-course by the East Australian Current and, like all travellers right now, its return trip home to Cairns even involved a stint in COVID quarantine.

Cronulla the flatback turtle was taken to Taronga Zoo where it received treatment and was rehabilitated back to full health.

But it wasn't that simple; like most things in 2020 the return journey home was complicated by the coronavirus pandemic. On arrival back in Queensland, the flatback even had to spend a stint in quarantine at the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre. "I don't think turtles carry COVID but it was still [in quarantine] for two weeks before it was released."

Would have been better if correct reference was made (spoiler: Crush)

“Doing a Nemo” is getting caught and spending most of the movie in a fish tank. It was was Nemo’s dad who rode the current with Crush (the turtle), not Nemo.

rptrpn It's not a shark, but it's still a long trip for this little bloke :)
