OcSober is when South Africans are urged to quit drinking for the month in order to raise awareness about the dangers of alcohol.
Maule said there was no one “aha” moment that led him to his decision, but a series of events and conversations with people, including those in management at ECR. "For people wanting to go down the route of being sober, you have to change your lifestyle and your habits. You're literally changing your life," he said.
"If they don't support the new life, they have to go. I experienced it first-hand when friends and family would say things that were so disruptive to my journey," he said.Maule recalled times when he would arrive at work not feeling"too great" after the night before, but now those were memories in the past.
