"Still Have Me" is not a clap back or an Ariana Grande-style "Thank u, next" tongue-in-cheek bop about breakups, but rather an introspective piano ballad that lets Demi's powerful vocals shine. "I'm a mess and I'm still broken," Demi sings. "It feels like someone's stolen all the light I ever had." The song is about getting over heartbreak and finding the strength within yourself to stand up and move on, even when it hurts. "I don't have much but at least I still have me," Demi sings in the chorus. "And that's all I need/so take my faith, but at least I still believe."
Demi is no stranger to very personal songs like "Still Have Me." She's also written about learning to love herself, struggling with sobriety, and feeling alone in the Hollywood machine. "Still Have Me" is just as moving and intensely personal as much of her catalog. "Everything around me shattered/all the highs are now just lows," she continues in the song. "But it doesn't even matter/'cause I'd rather be alone.
