Father Ted star Pauline McLynn says not having children gives her more time to fight climate change

Actress and author Pauline McLynn said not having kids means she has more time to fight climate change.

The 58-year-old admitted landing the iconic role of Mrs Doyle taught her a lot about the importance of self-care. “There’s nothing better than a stupidly funny comedy which it is and it doesn’t depend on time, there’s no current affairs in it. The characters all exist in their own little bubble of time.”

“I wanted to talk to older people around the country. It seemed to me the younger generation would be on board with such a fabulous thing and some of the older people mightn’t entirely understand.
