Studies show people living in the Arctic Circle are armed with a mindset that helps combat the long ‘polar night’. It might come in handy for us all…

– which might involve snuggling under blankets with a warm drink in the candlelight. Far from dwindling in the dark, Tromsø’s community flourished in the long polar night. “There is this interaction between the culture that you’re part of, and the mentality or mindset that grows out of it,” says Prof Joar Vittersø, Leibowitz’s collaborator at the Arctic University of Tromsø.

'Want to not be depressed this winter? Pretend you live in a functional country!'

how many ski resorts do you think the UK has, dude

Great article apart from Norwegians enjoy snow in the winter which brings a different set of activities with it and it really brightens up the landscape at night. Here in the UK there is not any variety in the winter as let’s be honest, all it does is it rains

Apetor!

The big difference is that they’re in Norway. The way I fight seasonal depression is through activity, if I’m not allowed to, I’m very worried how I will cope.

Great article, thank you. I really needed to read something like this today.

I love Norway.

What ?.. slaughter whales ?

Norway has a suicide rate 30% higher than the UK's so I'm not sure this is very good advice

evidently the writer of this story has no idea how ridiculous the concept of 'practising koselig' sounds to actual norwegians. for starters, koselig is an adjective, not an activity. 'practicing koselig' is simply not a thing norwegians do.

Tbh I don't mind a winter lockdown. I'd be locked down anyway, heating on with a cup of hot chocolate.

Look at you trying to normalize an abnormal government mandate, shameful

No. Dont think like a Norwegian. Call out the criminal acts of a rogue globalist government insisting on an unnecessary and illegal lock down.

And walk like an Egyptian

Peaceful non-compliance is the only sane response to lockdown.

Failing that, walk like an Egyptian.
