In 1982, Sean Penn starred as iconic surfer bro Jeff Spicoli in"Fast Times at Ridgemont High." On Thursday, Penn mostly sat back and watched a shirtless Shia LaBeouf embody the role with an all-star cast as part of a virtual table read.
"Fast Times at Ridgemont High: A Virtual Table Read" starred Brad Pitt as hardworking Bradley, Jennifer Aniston as confident Linda, Julia Roberts as innocent Stacy, LaBeouf as buzzed Spicoli, Matthew McConaughey as sneaky Damone, John Legend as both popular Charles Jefferson and his brother, Dane Cook as sweet Rat, Jimmy Kimmel as several minor characters, Henry Golding as Mr. Vargas, Ray Liotta as tough Mr. Hand and Morgan Freeman as the reader of stage directions.
The one-hour event did finally happen, with some awkward pauses and plenty of LaBeouf shenanigans — he appeared to smoke a joint in his car and stray from the script — which had Penn cracking up. But the award for best sport during the reading had to go to Aniston.
This is so desperate and pathetic. Hollywood is so satanic and evil that no one cares about their propaganda anymore.
