NSW Transport Minister AndrewConstance says the Berejiklian government’s new strategy to re-open Sydney’s 24/7 economy is “about creating jobs”.

NSW Transport Minister Andrew Constance says the Berejiklian government’s new strategy to re-open Sydney’s 24/7 economy is “about creating jobs”. More late-night transport, longer opening hours and fewer restrictions for live music could be introduced under the state government plan to revive Sydney’s 24-hour economy.

Mr Constance said the new program would be spearheaded by Jobs, Investment and Tourism Minister Stuart Ayres who would look at reviving both city and regional centres. He said the government wanted “to try and re-invigorate [Sydney] as a truly global city as we come out of the pandemic”. The Transport Minister said he was “very mindful of drug and alcohol fueled violence” and the re-invigoration of night life in Sydney would have to be coupled with a change in the culture.

AndrewConstance New strategie to create jobs? Does not make sense. The jobs and people's businesses and livelihoods were forcibly taken away due to scamdemic. That's not job creation when the jobs were previously there, you cannot take any kind of credit for that.

AndrewConstance NSW Liberal Party wrecks Sydney night-life and now proudly announced it will fight to bring it back. 🤷‍♂️

AndrewConstance Brilliant news! Sydney's nightlife has been destroyed, and it started even before the lockout laws. Let's hope they can get this wonderful city going again!

AndrewConstance If they are serious about Sydney having a 24/7 economy they’d get rid of the ridiculous 11pm curfew at Sydney airport

AndrewConstance And yet AndrewConstance will have driverless trains that take jobs away

AndrewConstance This is awesome to hear - lets get Sydneys music and nightlife scene back to what it used to be !! It was good times back in the 90s when we used to go out all the time no dramas - it was a fun time and huge for the economy - Restaurants Pubs Clubs Musos Taxis etc all benefited

AndrewConstance FYI Sydney still has lockout laws in Kings Cross.
