If it doesn't, it will likely lose money. "International holds are very strong so far, and those could provide an early indicator of what to expect from North America as major markets eventually reopen and the film looks at a wide-open corridor with virtually no major competition and the steady return of moviegoers over time, including those who aren't yet aware that cinemas have reopened," notes Robbins.

Nolan's film is the first Hollywood tentpole to brave debuting on the big screen in the COVID-19 era. Not brave. Foolish, ill-advised, counterproductive, and dangerous are better descriptors.

Yay greed!

Danny1532 If only Tenet has something going for it, anything. TenetMovie Even a hero with a name would help.

Brave is the poorest word choice here. Like many others said, it's not brave to open during a pandemic. If Nolan really wanted people to see it safely he would have waited.

LOL. Brave 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 more like greedy

I won’t see this movie in theaters and I’m a big Nolan fan. I’ll pay $30 to watch it at home or on my phone. Please, release this movie online.

It’s cowardly, the exact opposite of brave.

We love Christopher Nolan tenet

wtf is the word brave doing there?

“Brave”? I think you mean irresponsible

A movie reel can't be 'brave'

WOW SO BRAVE

“Brave” isn’t exactly the word I would’ve used here.

“Brave”... what a disappointment of a headline. Nolan and these desperate theaters do not represent the views of the film industry.

Going to movies during a pandemic while lambasting Republicans for whatever they do without masks is where the whole coastal elite shit comes from. Cut it out. Going to movies right now is fucking dumb

That’s a funny way to spell dumb

Not a great headline, debuting a movie in the middle of a pandemic isn't brave. At best it's desperate. At worst it's recklessly irresponsible and endangering people.

Do you guys ever have well written headlines?

It was a stupid idea and Nolan is a chud

Brave? Try stupid

Reckless, irresponsible

'the first Hollywood tentpole to brave debuting'

“Brave”?! Brave is staying home and encouraging all to!

They opened during a pandemic. How is that brave. It’s just a movie. People still can’t visit dying love ones in the hospital. But yeah let’s hero worship a movie.

And isnt worth the cost or chance

This isn't brave, it's pure Hollywood egotism. The movie would have undoubtedly reached more people on VOD, but Chris Nolan decided his precious masterpiece was too good to be seen in people's living rooms and demanded it get a theatrical release. Fuck that guy.

fxhxxm Amazing film 🍿

The Teaser of the dunemovie teaser was the best of Tenet...no doubt !!

Brave like an idiot

'...Brave?' Oh, fuck right off.

Too bad it's a horrible movie

Wear a mask, keep at least 6ft of distance, wash your hands, workout, take your vitamins, and enjoy your lives! Sheesh, folks!

TenetMovie should forever be known as the movie that wasn't worth going to the cinema for.

Wow. What smooth brain editor approved that article

This isn’t bravery. It’s greed. There is a global pandemic, widespread civil unrest, horrific unemployment and eviction numbers and unprecedented corruption in the US government. You’re not “brave” for trying to make back your investment money.

Loved this action-packed mindfuck! Nolan knows how to do it. And John David was magnificent as the Protagonist!

our cinemas will not open soon..waiting to someone share the movie by torrent..btw, does someone have it?

A noble effort, but it didn't exactly pay off.

Editor's note: Change 'to brave debuting ' to 'stupid enough to debut.'

That's not 'brave', that's idiotic and greedy.

Brave? Wtf

There is a difference between bravery and stupidity. It may behoove you to learn it.

See, but the movie can't get sick and die. So is it brake to lewer people to their death?

Boo-urns.

“Brave” do me a favour.

Brave, Just like those having party? ... Or brave like those crowding beaches?...

I’m just gonna brave the legal system and just torrent it cause I’m not dying for a movie.

How is it 'brave'?

Yeah, and I'm the first man brave enough to take part in a knife headbutting competition, wheres my article?

oooohhhhhhhhhh goody. More mass stupid events. It is remarkable how frequently things with 'Hollywood' confuse bravery with sheer and utter, please-for-the-love-of-God-get-sterilized-for-the-sake-of-the-human-species, stupidity.

They opened in a pandemic, that’s not brave, it’s pure idiocy

Very very right decision was made upon this

Wow, so brave, such heroism, very admirable choice (to listen to whichever moron told them that theatre exclusivity was the best plan of action. Unless his plan was to severely cull critical reviews/box office numbers in revenge against the studio, in which case very brave.)

Maybe the only one

Wish they would have released at home. The hubs and I want to see it but not worth going and sitting in a theatre! That stinks!

Jesus this movie didn’t storm Omaha beach.

There's no Tom Hardy or Cillian Murphy in this film...

It should have need released on demand

first🤩

It's almost reaching its budget in the box office on its second weekend. I think it should hit around $300-$400 million just before Wonder Woman is out. The lack of competition should give it some decent legs, at least until Black Widow and No Time to Die releases.

Walked out and got a refund for this movie. Watched for an hour and was so lost. Couldn’t hear the dialogue cause of the terrible sound mixing.

Those who call its BO performance Okayish are living in N. Korea. They have no idea how things have changed.

Like 2020, it didn't make a lot of sense. 🤨

first

Looks like a must see.

Any idea when will they open theaters bk?

Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name
