People can afford cars but not food...sounds like LA alright.
A good substitute use of the time and space.
From what I remember going to the Monty Python show at the Hollywood Bowl, it was largely social distanced even back in 1980, not a typical concert crowd.
They have dogs & cars...that isn't 'hungry'.
