“We had nearly filmed the whole series in Melbourne. Stage 4 lockdown didn’t start until we were in the middle of production, so that’s the only reason we were able to continue with production, but Saturday was the grand finale, it was our last day of filming.
“We got there. I walked into the makeup room and saw all the other panellists were there and I said: ‘Guys, lock the door we made it through. We are going to make it till the end.’ “Twenty minutes later we were called into a meeting saying we haven’t got through … they’re blaming me for jinxing them now.”Dave Hughes on The Masked Singer.“All our thoughts are with the people who have been tested positive. The dancers have been doing their job. It’s tough. They’re not sleeping at the studio; they are sleeping at hotels close to the studio. I don’t know how they got it.”
Contract tracers are now trying to figure out how the dancers first came into contact with coronavirus, and all the panellists have been tested. “I had my test yesterday I am self-isolating at home,” he continued. “I will get results back today.”“Hopefully we can do it this week. The grand finale is all we have got to do so it’s an hour of TV left in the series I hope we can do it this week. But is there a chance we can never do it? Who knows?”
That moment when your routine is so lame you have to reveal a negative test result as your boom moment.
