“Our allies don't know what to make of us,” said Rice. “The president of the United States is a liar and the whole world knows it.” Based on the Trump administration’s reaction, or lack there of, to the coronavirus outbreak, Rice believes the world sees us as incompetent. She is also extremely concerned about the ramifications of a potential Trump re-election.
“I'm deeply, deeply concerned that if we had four more years of this, we would not be an America that anybody can recognize,” said Rice. “The situation would be unsalvageable, our national security and standing in the world irreparably damaged.” Rice saved perhaps her most hyperbolic statement from the interview to reiterated the importance of the upcoming presidential election. “It's really a life or death situation we're in,” said Rice. “It's not too extreme a statement to make, both domestically and internationally.”
