riff, as secretly obsessed with its lead character’s specialness as it pretends to be amused by his inadequacies.is a sneaky vanity project, one that uses its alma mater revisit—all of a college campus’s teeming but tightly bordered potential—as a way not to explore the lead’s post-collegiate listlessness, but to show how smart he has always been.does not, thankfully, commit the same sin.
