Countries including India and Indonesia have not reached the peak of their first wave of coronavirus outbreak, while others such as Australia appeared to be experiencing a second wave of infections, data compiled by John Hopkins University indicated.

Some countries in Asia Pacific are still experiencing a sharp climb in new coronavirus infections, months after the disease first emerged in the region.Last week, India became the third country to record more than 1 million cumulative cases of Covid-19, while Indonesia overtook China as the country with the highest number of confirmed cases in East Asia.
