You presumably heard Boris Johnson, when asked at prime minister’s questions this week about the future of theatre, declare that “the show must go on”. I wonder what your reaction was. Did you let out a silent cheer? Or did you, like the rest of us, groan at Johnson’s hollow bombast at a time when not only theatre but the whole performing arts sector faces decimation by December?

iamclintmansell And it’s not just theatre, it’s across the entirety of the performing arts. In every town and city of the UK, small venues especially have closed down for good or are on the edge. Artists, crews, staff, all are under threat because this government doesn’t give a shit.
With proper plan just meaning people handing out more money they may have to accept the situation as it is and rebuild once it is over.

If there is a satisfactory answer to the loss of theater goers due to the virus I don't know what it could be. The only solution I think is money from the government and allow people back in without distancing. I fear the industry will collapse and that will be it.
