With that, says Armon, has come an influx of donations as well.“I know the media. I’ve been an organizer for six or seven years. I know you get a lot of attention for a short amount of time, then it dwindles.
“I think the narrative before was kind of like, here are people who are facing these specific types of challenges, and they almost made it like we were helpless, and now the narrative is shifting to, here’s how you should show up to support. Here’s how things need to be fixed and now is the time to fix them. Now will people take heed to that? Who knows.”
