Funeral services are being held today for a young Indigenous woman who was killed by police in Edmundston, N.B., and a Toronto woman who fell to her death from a balcony while officers were in her home.A private funeral service was held today for 26-year-old Chantel Moore in the New Brunswick community where she had moved three months ago to be near her mother and six-year-old daughter. She was remembered as a kind soul who united family from both sides of the country.
Mary Martin, Moore’s grandmother, said they would remember her “gentle face and warm smile,” and that her passing has left an enormous hole in their hearts. The lawyer for the family of Regis Korchinski-Paquet’s family says they will hold a private viewing and funeral on Thursday. Knia Singh says a public memorial will occur once the details are finalized.

The family of Regis...did they keep the crowd funding money..$280,000 or more? She barricaded herself onto the balcony, family called police..True story on tape. National Post needs an editor that embraces truth.
