and Thee Sinseers, kicked off LAMC’s first showcase presented by peermusic, bringing live entertainment to the conference.
In a room with purple lighting, Spanish hip hop artist Mala Rodriguez sang her songs “Peleadora” and “Like” off of her recent studio albumThee Sinseers, a soulful, R&B group from East Los Angeles, crooned spectators with their live session that included songs “You Keep on Calling,” “Can’t Call Me Baby” and “The Chase.”
“I’m going to be performing a few songs,” Gaby Moreno followed. “Thank you for joining me, I’m happy to be a part of the virtual LAMC.” The Guatemalan artist performed her singles “Intento” and “Lost in a Cloud,” as well as an acoustic rock version of the classic bolero “Quizas, Quizas, Quizas.” “This is a little weird,” she admits, “but I hope to see you in real life, real soon.”
Wrapping up the showcase was Lido Pimienta, who in her ASMR voice said: “Lido Pimienta from her house, from her world, from her life, from her eyes, from here.” From the comfort of her own room, the Colombian-Canadian artist performed and danced to “Para Transcribir ,” “Eso Que Tu Haces,” and “Nada.”
