'We all got our situations, so don’t judge no one for no reason,' Lil Wayne said of his encounters with the police

's Young Money Radio, explaining his feelings about the police in light of George Floyd's death and the nationwide protests against racism and police brutality that have followed.

"My life was saved when I was young," he reminded listeners on his show."I was 12 or something, I think. Shot myself. I was saved by a white cop, Uncle Bob. So you have to understand ... you have to understand the way I view police, period. I was saved by a white cop." He said,"There was a bunch of black cops jumped over me when they saw me at that door, laying on the floor with that hole in my chest. He refused to. Those black cops jumped over me, and ran through the crib, and said, 'We found the gun, we found this, we found that.' He said, 'I found this baby on this floor. I need to get to a hospital.' He didn’t wait for an ambulance. He took his car. He made somebody drive it, and he made sure that I lived.

Fans might recall Lil Wayne speaking about his experience with former officer"Uncle Bob" [Robert Hoobler] in the past, particularly inat the 2018 BET Hip-Hop Awards, when he continued the story:"He brought me to the hospital himself. He refused to wait, he kicked in the doors. He said, 'You get whatever you gotta do and you make sure this child make it' ...

"So ... before you want to speculate about anything, understand that I go through situations, too, and we all got our situations, so don’t judge no one for no reason, for how or whatever, don’t judge. Do you. Do you. Help out in any kind of way you want to help out, any kind of way you can," said Lil Wayne.

Yeah but he gotta realize not everybody got it how he got it. Not everybody is lucky enough to own the plane. For every one cop who does their job, there’s 5 behind him ready to do the wrong thing and 4 others ready to sit there and watch. THAT’S the issue. That’s why we fight.

Same Lil Wayne who said 'Never talk to the cops, I don't speak Pig Latin'
