Josh Trank, director of the 2015 reboot of “Fantastic Four,” has revealed that he wanted to cast a Black actress as the superhero Sue Storm, but got “heavy pushback.” Kate M…

“When I look back on that, I should have just walked when that realization sort of hit me, and I feel embarrassed about that, that I didn’t just out of principle. Those aren’t the values I stand for in my own life; those weren’t the values then, or ever, for me. I’m somebody who always talks about standing up for what I believe in, even if it means burning my career out. I feel bad that I didn’t take it to the mat with that issue. I feel like I failed in that regard,” he said.

*Adds not casting a Black Sue Storm to the list of poor ass decisions made for this Fantastic Four movie*

Omg this guy is an opportunist

Yes because Storm from the X-Men is already black, while Susan Storm is traditionally a blonde, white girl. The producers probably thought it was unnecessary to create two black superheros named Storm.

You can't polish a turd.

Every virtue seeking white person in Hollywood is digging for a story where they heroically stood up for somebody black. This is grotesque drama. You know the one thing all good people have in common? They don't feel a need to blast to everyone how good they are.

It would have made a lot more sense than having Sue white and Johnny black. The need to re-colour characters is tiresome though.

I am sick of this news. Its been 4 days i am continuously seeing it. Mr. tank, its better that black actress wasn't casted because this decision saved her from massive disappointment which could have been her career killer.
