Deputy Prime Minister and Nationals leader Michael McCormack and NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro have shown a united front at their first public appearance after a series of leaked text messages.

In the text message exchange Mr Barilaro took a swipe at Mr McCormack over his supposed lack of support for his bid to run in the federal seat of Eden-Monaro. In the leaked messages Mr Barilaro wrote, "To feel threatened by me clearly shows you have failed your team and failed as a leader”. "You will never be acknowledged by me as our leader. You aren't. You never will be.
