Political Reporter at The Australian Greg Brown says “in times like this it does show the pitfalls of having a maverick leader” as violent demonstrations across the US continue to escalate. Demonstrations broke out across the country following the death of unarmed black man, George Floyd, who was killed by police.
“People were sick of the every day politicians so Donald Trump was elected and he sought to be divisive through this,” Mr Brown told Sky News. “And I think we saw the pitfalls of having a maverick leader during the coronavirus health crisis as well,” he said, “So sometimes when you’re going through issues of national trauma the boring politician can do the trick.” Image: Getty
