Over the last few weeks, the 27-year-old has gone from an up-and-coming Broadway baby to a full-blown TV sensation thanks to a starring role in Ryan Murphy’s Netflix hit,. The show – this month’s buzziest – reimagines 1940s Los Angeles with tangible opportunities for women, people of colour and the LGBTQ+ community. Pope leads the cast as a gay character named Archie Coleman, who exposes Old Hollywood’s seedy underbelly when he attempts to get a script produced by a major studio.

It almost seems unfair, I point out, for Pope to have a hand in everything from drama to TV, fashion to music – and be just as talented in every arena. “Young Jeremy didn’t think he could dream this big,” he says. And now? “We’re just going to run with it.
