Kenny Chesney re-enters the Billboard Artist 100 chart at No. 1 to become the top musical act in the U.S. for a second total week, thanks to his new album,The set opens at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 233,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, earning the country superstar his ninth No. 1 and tying him with Garth Brooks for the most among country acts in the chart's 64-year history.also debuted atop the Billboard 200.
Notably, Chesney is the first country act to rule the Artist 100 this year. Luke Combs last earned the honor, on Nov. 23, 2019, when his LPlaunched atop the Billboard 200. Combs and Thomas Rhett were the only country acts to lead the Artist 100 last year. The Artist 100, which launched in 2014, measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
